intercity/nonurban Explanation: Unfortunately we do not have a word/phrase just like the Persian one. The Persian context indicates traffic which is mainly outside the city. These are the closest we have in English, I think. "intercity" means "between cities" whereas the Persian can mean simply "outside a city" for example in rural areas, without actually going from one city to another. "nonurban" is a simple way of saying "not city"...this one may be better for the Persian context. "suburban" usually means limited to the residential areas around a city, so it is not really good here. "interstate" indicates traffic/commerce between states and in the USA this has regulatory/legal/commercial implications which are not relevant here. |
