English language (monolingual) [PRO] Art/Literary - Slang
English term or phrase:waggle (here)
in "give him a bit of a waggle"
Here's the context:
A : You shagged any of the carers yet? Bet they give the old grandads a bit of a waggle. B: Is that all you ever think about? A: I thought about sex every moment till I got forty.
Is waagle like a kind of hip swing or is it something else ? Thank you for your help
Just to correct one point though — the question will not be masked anywhere else on the site, only the question term itself, and then only in the notifications.
Thank you for your sunny wishes — sadly, for the moment here, he's proving rather shy to appear.
thanks. I knew that but was too lazy. However, I do not get notification of questions asked so if the question was masked, everyone who does not receive notification and who is not very "inquisitive" will not see the question. But let's stop it here, we are all in agreement. Have a sunny day.
Do note that in the top right-hand corner of your discussion posts, next to the 'X', there is an icon of a piece of paper with a pencil; clicking this allows you to go back and edit your post (function disabled after 24 hours).
As I said, firstly, it isn't the actual question term itself that is offensive; and secondly, it's too late now anyway! The ONLY function of the 'offensive' flag is to mask the actual question term when notifications are sent out, and to block notifications from people who prefer not to receive these questions. Since the notifications have already gone out, neither of those two functions will achieve anything. Anyone coming across the question by any other route will/would see it anyway.
I'm just a bit worried that some people may find this question offensive and make a bit of a stink, that's all. I'll leave it up to you. But it's up to Rita to decide what she wants to do. Rule 2.9: Labeling of certain types of questions is required. Term questions that are either derived from a translation test, or which contain content that may be perceived as offensive by others, should be marked using the checkboxes provided in the posting form.
The notifications have already been sent out, changing the setting now will serve no useful purpose.
In any case, it isn't the actual question term that is offensive, so much as the possible explanations of it.
Only site staff or moderators can change the setting — though a while ago when I was a moderator, there used to be a bug (probably now corrected!) which meant we couldn't even make the change work.
But like I said, there's really no point, as the notifications have already been sent out now, and they won't go out again if it is changed.
is what you do with hips... this is something altogether more... direct!
Th 'may be offensive' check box is available at the moment of posting your question, and means that the actual question term will be masked when notifications are sent out to prospective answerers.
