Bus/Financial - Retail
English term or phrase: GM
The following paragraph refers to a discount retailer in the UK.

There are approximately 370 stores in the UK with 40% of space in stores typically allocated to Food & FMCG and the rest to GM.

I see that GM can stand for General Manager or Genetically Modified, but I don't think it means either one in this context.

Any suggestions?

Many thanks!!!

Notes to answerer
Asker: Thank you very much!! I did look it up, even here on ProZ, and for some reason I didn't find "general merchandise" among the results...

Asker: :-) Have a great day!
