blood samples drawn with a vacuum (evacuated tube) system Explanation: If they are blood samples they could mean this: http://www.ign.com/blogs/ericaxx/2012/05/05/list-of-common-s... The evacuated tube system is is the most common collection system in use. It consists of evacuated tubes of various sizes, with color coded tops indicating tube contents. The vacuum in each tube is such that a measured amount of blood is drawn into the tube. Tube volumes range from two to five milliliters. The tubes also need to be filled in a certain order, explanation given previously, this is to keep the sterility of the tubes preserved to ensure the most accurate readings/results of test.
