agree  Lirka: Most likely; the sentence structure leads me to believe that it is indeed from a speech. It was misheard, it happens all the time...

neutral  Tina Vonhof (X): There is no indication that it's from a speech.

  -> If it's from an article, as you imply, it's very badly written and edited. And why would this person write "egg tubes" when they meant "air tubes"?

agree  Adriana Penco: Sounds like an "eggcorn". Is it a transcription? Maybe someone wrote that instead of 'air tubes': misheard, miswritten.

neutral  philgoddard: This sounds like a transcript of speech, hence the colloquial style, or possibly dictation. Either way, it's been misheard. "Air tubes" is far more likely than "airways".

  -> I don't agree, but thanks nevertheless for your feedback

agree  Tina Vonhof (X): This is the better term and the context does not indicate whether it's from a speech or an article.

  -> Thanks Tina

agree  liz askew: Airways is the correct term.

  -> Thanks Liz

agree  Cilian O'Tuama: "air tubes" might be what he says/said, but this is better IMO.

tubos de huevos

Explanation:

agree  Cilian O'Tuama: A disagree for getting language combination wrong is too harsh, hence my agree (though I don't speak a word of POR)
