English term or phrase: Solvents ad
Hi everyone,

I'm translating a veterinary product description and in "composition" appears:

Contains per ml:
Florfenicol 100 mg.
*Solvents ad* 1 ml.

Does anyone know what this means? Thanks a lot!

Explanation:
your numbers are puzzling to me - only 1 ml total volume? maybe there is a mistake.

usually we use 'qs'
see http://wiki.answers.com/Q/What_does_QS_mean_in_volume_metric...

for te use of 'ad' see this link here

http://www.google.co.uk/patents/WO2006067138A2?cl=en

8. The pharmaceutical composition according to claims 1 to 7 consisting of
Florfenicol 45 g
N-methyl- 2- pyrrolidone (NMP) 35 g
Diethylene glycol monoethylether ad 100 ml
9. The pharmaceutical composition according to claims 1 to 7 consisting of
Florfenicol 45 g
N-methyl- 2- pyrrolidone (NMP) 30 g
Diethylene glycol monoethylether ad 100 ml

where Diethylene glycol monoethylether is clearly the solvent where the two substances are dissolved and then the total volume is made up to 100 ml.
