to defend or to agree with Explanation: "to take under" and "to take against" terms are used in Legal Terminology. I am not sure about the exact meaning but looking at usage of both the terms it seems "to take under" means "to defend" or "to agree with" and "to take against" means to oppose. I have given the links where both terms are explained and used.
