And the cops back in those days, they used to ring up and say, "have some girls ready," and madam come up to you
and say, "Leigh, you need $101. "You're going to get busted tonight." The cops would rock up to the house, you got busted. You just went in the car
and then they split the money.

They are talking about the police corruption in the 70s, The police come to the brothel, ask the madam to prepare some girls, acting like they are doing their job, but the girls go the police car not to the police station, and the police split the money they got from the madam.

What 101 stands for here?

Thanks in advance,

introductory something

Explanation:
It means "introductory something". which in the Australian or American system and probably others indicates an introductory something, often with no prerequisites.

neutral  writeaway: "Leigh, you need $101". the $ should just be ignored? How does your suggestion fit in the context?

  -> I reckon that obviously dollar even though for me, this doesn't just money which kinds of bribery or definitions include: the real information or the proof, instruction, the know-how, where, when, and why about something or someone acquisition.

disagree  Daryo: what kind of "introduction" would this Madam possibly need? She and the corrupt cops pretty obviously already know each other very well, probably for quite some time. Unless by "introduction" you in fact mean "baksheesh"? THAT would be plausible.

agree  Rainer Zawadzki: Just like English 101 or Chemistry 101, an introductory course on how to keep the police happy.

  -> Thanks heaps!

disagree  Taña Dalglish: Your explanation and responses to others are impossible to decipher as they are not English. I absolutely 100% disagree with Rainer Z. as the context has nothing to do with English 101. It is $101.00 (a $ amount), plain and simple.
