sorry for the many questions

[context: mounting shade side brackets to ceiling brackets (called sub-bracket)]

"1 Remove retaining screws from shade brackets.

2 Slide back of shade bracket into slot of sub-bracket
3 Slide shade ***back*** while ***swinging front of shade bracket up*** to hook on sub-bracket
4 Confirm shade bracket is fully engaged onto sub-bracket"

- is "back" in step 3 a part of the verb to slide, or is it the back of the shade as in step 2?
- swinging up - can you help me with a synonym?

Explanation:
Yes, it means slide back = to slide in a backwards direction; they could have said 'slide back the shade'

and 'swing up' means to hinge it in an upwards sense; presumably the shade is relatively flexible, which is why they would use 'swing' instead of 'hinge', which sounds more appropriate for a rigid item.

I guess the idea is you have to lift the shade up and out of the way so you can get behind it!
