English term or phrase: PVC in this context
"Protect your card against sources of heat, light and PVC."

It is a plastic card with memory chip. I have some doubt as to "PVC" in this context: could it be "permanent virtual circuit", "permanent virtual channel" or smth more?

Explanation:
Is it possible that it is a typo for something else, or maybe a bad fax copy?
I too am unable to explain why you would keep the card away from PVC, the plastic, especially as it is used to make many of the cards.

I would think you would want to have something like "EMF" there, as in keep the card away from magnetic influences, but PVC to EMF may be a bit of a stretch.

Asker: Thank you! It's not a bad copy, it's a Word file. I think the word "PVC" could have been "lost" in the phrase (because of program's error etc.) , so it is in a wrong place. But I can't confirm it now.

agree  Ken Cox: polyvinyl chloride does indeed sound quite unlikely -- as you said, it is used to make many cards (esp. credit cards) and there's a logical problem with 'sources of'. Maybe it's supposed to be EMR (electromagnetic radiation) - e.g microwaves
