English language (monolingual) [PRO]
Tech/Engineering - Electronics / Elect Eng / Alarm systems
English term or phrase: EOL (here)
Context:
Number of on-board wired zones - 8 (Supporting No EOL / Single EOL / Dual EOL / Inertia Sensors)
DarekS

End Of Line
Explanation:
I have a vague recollection that in alarm systems this CAN refer to an End Of Line unit, some kind of terminator --- it would make sense for your unit to be abelt o cope with various different types of these, and a 'dual' one certainly does exist.

However, I do not know if this is what it stands for in your particular context!

Good luck!

Here's a Google ref. using the term in this way --- note that this is a FIRE alarm system, but the principle is equally applicable to all other alarm types:

Building Fire Detection and Emergency Warning Systems

Detectors are wired in a loop instead of terminating with an end of line device. ... Typically used as a substitute for internal fire alarm bells. OPTION 2 ...

In the light of my research, both on your company's products and alarm systems in general, I would now increase my confidence level to 4½!
