Can someone explain to me what the word "travel" means in this context?

The Actuator motor:

This is a sealed 24-volt electric motor unit, which is supplied through a mains transformer. The motor is fitted with automatic stops that operate at each extreme end of its travel. It will also cut out if it is over loaded.
