English term or phrase: determine fault in 24VDC supply 10G
in a printing press, troubleshooting section

PROBLEM: No unwind brake.

SYMPTOM: Dancer controller and/or Devicenet modules display/LED not illuminated.

PROBABLE CAUSE: Loss of 24VDC supply.

TESTS AND REMEDIES: Check 24VDC ***determine fault in 24VDC supply 10G and determine fault***

...this sentence is a little confused to me, I think some commas are missing at the beginning of the sentence, but then I am a bit lost "check 24Vdc, determine fault in 24Vdc supply 10G?? (what's 10G) and determine fault??? (again?)

thanks!

Selected answer:explanation
Explanation:
probably should be 'Check 24VDC, check for faulty 24VDC supply 10G and determine (identify) the fault'

The first '24VDC' means the voltage (check the voltage).
In the absence of other context, I can only guess that '10G' is an assembly designation.

agree  Tony M: Yes, that makes logical sense to me; '10G' is almost certainly the type of the power supply. They could have said "determine (if there is a) fault in '10G' 24Vdc supply, and determine (the nature of that) fault"

Yes, you are right, commas are missed.

Explanation:
Yes, you are right, commas are missed.
You should check voltage, then determine if it is a fault of the 10G power supply. If it is the power supply, then determine what kind of fault is this - what is wrong with the power supply.

This is my guess.

10G leave as it is. It is some manufacturer's abbriviation for power supply or a model.
