With the control box removed there are two tabs to release and you must unplug the ribbon cable from the front membrance fo the control board. The control board can now be lifted out if the control housing.

I think it's a typo, but what the wright word is, I know not :(

in reply to your comment: look at http://www.whiteheather.co.nz/outdoor/refrigeration/feature.... and you'll see that even portable ones have membrane keypads! Anyway, if there's a ribbon cable / flatcable, there's at least a PCB (probably with display and/or keypad) on part you're removing

agree  Ken Cox: Interestingly enough, there are quite a few google hits for 'membrance keypad' and the like. I wonder where it came from? Possibly a trade name, misappropriation from another field, mistranslation, ...?
