two-paragraph essay - it is OK. Explanation: An essay could basically be any piece of writing that gives the author's opinion. It is a very sketchy term, and it is very hard to define it. In many academic institutions, at least in the US, 5-paragraph essays are required, but shorter, e.g. 2-paragraph, essays are common, too. They just have a slightly different structure. For example, the thesis statement would be one of the first three sentences, and it could also function as a hook. There is also no place for "padding", and the supporting evidence must be brief and on point. I would personally use the word, "response" here, but "essay" is not very jarring to my ears in this context. |
