neutral  attiya khan: It the is correct meaning as a verb form, but the asker asked the question under 'nutrition' category. So the answer given by Terjumaan would be applicable there. Oh, I see you agree with that translation as well:)

agree  Shabbir Limbada: thank you attiyah, that was exactly my reason for giving the noun and not the verb as the asker asked under food and nutrition:)

I did not put the verb تراش نا etc in my answer, purely because the asker asked the question under food and nutrition category and as that it had to be a noun and not verb.And as that it is the appropriate and correct answer.

agree  Will Matter: Sometimes it's good to give askers a rough idea of how the word is pronounced. In many cases, when non-logged in visitors ask for simple terms they may (or may not) be able to read our answers. If asker cannot read Arabic / Urdu add a brief explanation.

agree  Qudsia Lone: A prune is a partially dried plum. I'm familiar with the word آلو بخارہ for plum, so if شفتالو is a variant of it than it should be correct. I wonder if there is a term for "partially dried" other than خشک as that may mean completely dry.

جزوی خشک آلوچہ، پتوں جھاڑیوں کو قلم کرنا، کسی کو کنجوس کہنا

Explanation:
Defining Prunes, much like their effect, has had it's ups and downs: they r partially dried special European plums(oval shaped 'n Purple). In Urdu most likely: جزوی خشک آلوچہ , however خشک آلو بخارہ is quite difrnt, as this arises from the Persian language 'potato of Bukhara' and of course in it's dried form is mainly used in Biriyani.. umm!.. using prunes, however, would soon get u a que outside the lu.
Verb: for deregatory use, name of Gastro condition, to cut shrubs (skill)

Example sentence(s):
  • Prune juice contains the natural laxative dihydrophenylisatin
  • Dom is being a prune
