English term or phrase: Urdu pdf to word conversion
Does anyone have any idea as how best to convert a PDF into word (Urdu text)?

I have been able to do that with English but presumably most conversion softwares do not support Urdu. If anyone of you has any idea, please direct me.

No such option that I know of.


Explanation:
I have not been able to convert from PDF to Word for Urdu, because Acrobat does not support Urdu system and it corrupts the text. The only way I have ever solved this problem is by re-typing. I would also be delighted to know if there any such solution available.

agree  Aftab Alam: if the font is ttf like transnaskhurdu you can copy and past or save as pdf file to rtf and open it in word then change the font to trans nask or alkatib or urdu web if the text is in urdu web

  -> I am not sure if that would help, because when copying from Acrobat to rtf, the text would change to left to right indentation, and that would mess up the Urdu text. But its worth a try...

I think there is a software called pdf2word on www.pdf2word.com But I doubt whether it'll work for Urdu or other non-english language. Please and let us know. It'll be usefull for devnaagri fonts also.

disagree  Aisha Rishi: I have tried this software before and it does not work for Urdu, reason being that Acrobat at this stage does not support Urdu encoding so can not convert it.
