Якщо колесо відхилене назовні, кут розвалу вважають додатним, а в разі зворотного нахилу – від’ємним. Для нормальної роботи переднього колеса кут розвалу завжди має бути додатним, завдяки чому зменшуються зусилля на поворот передніх коліс, що полегшує керування автомобілем.
