English to Turkish translations [PRO]
Tech/Engineering - Automotive / Cars & Trucks / büyük tarım araçları
English term or phrase: S-ing
Büyük tarım aracının elektronik sistemlerinde ayarlamalar/kalibrasyon yapılıyor ve "... gerçekleşmediğinde aracınız "S-ing" yapar" deniyor.
Buradaki "S-ing", acaba tekerleklerin/lâstiklerin sekiz yapması, yalpalaması mı?

...
A too large hysteresis can cause a constant S-ing of the tractor.
...
So this S-ing needs to be checked if performance is not sufficient and even a change of the advanced steering settings...

Explanation:

Notes to answerer

"S"ING ISSUES
HAS ANYONE SEEN THE "S" AND BEEN ABLE TO CORRECT THIS PROBLEM? I'VE HAD NO LUCK.
I have mine dialed in perfect I think. What tractor do you have it in, what speed are you running. I am able to run mine with the following settings. Steering wheel speed:200 Acquire speed 120, Line tracking 150. line heading 150. Works great, hardly ever see it drift more than 2 inches. Works great on the Airseeder, I guess we will see when the crop comes up. This is in a buhler 435 running about 6.6 mph. I ran it about 9 mph with the super coulter, it didnt perform as well but it was good enough for that.

I followed the suggestion of how to tune it in the manual. I started with the wheel speed. The book says to run the wheel speed as high as possible without having ATU disengage. With my platform this was at 200. I then went to the acquire sensity got that it so it was alright, then moved on to the line sensitivities. The line sensitivies work together and I was able to get it really dialed into where I am happy, and I am the type of person if it isnt perfect I would still be out there working on it.

"S" stands for ground speed. "S-ing" might mean that an "S" is displayed on the monitor, meaning that the ground speed is incorrect.

"Drawbar HP = FS/375 where F is the force in pounds required to pull the implement and S is the ground speed in mph. It would appear that doubling S would simply double the DBHP required, a direct relationship. However the amount of force, F, required to pull an implement through the soil increases with speed. In a clay soil, it takes 1 1/2 times as much force to pull a tillage tool at 6 mph as at 3 mph. Thus, both F and S increase, and more energy is required per unit of work done at higher speeds. From an energy standpoint, a speed range of 4 to 6 mph works well for tillage operations. http://www.ext.colostate.edu/pubs/farmmgt/05005.html

Asker: Thank you very much once more for the valuable information. S-ing" might mean that an "S" is displayed on the monitor, meaning that the ground speed is incorrect, and it does not mean that the wheels (tires/rims) stagger/totter. So, 'S-ing' could mean (in my case) that the wrong hysteresis cause the wrong ground speed of the tractor and it will be displayed as "S" on a monitor (stays for speed). "S" means that machine (actually some wheel sensors) need to be recalibrated.
