Surveying / land annexation
English term or phrase: a called acre tract
When describing tracts to be annexed, the phrase "a called xxxx acre tract" is constantly repeated. xxxx means different numbers. any idea/reference to how "call" is rendered in this context? Thanks a lot.

lote mensurado de XXX acres
Explanation:

This section will help you understand how a boundary line is defined from a simple Deed Call.
You can think of a deed call as a set of instructions that would guide you from one end of a straight line on the surface of the earth to the other. It doesn't consider hills, valleys, trees or rivers. It doesn't even consider that the earth is not flat. Every deed call gives the following three instructions....

I know what an acre is but i was wondering if there was a difference? I'm interested in some land i seen in the paper but it says 5.17 acre tract. so i was wondering what the 'tract' part means. thanks for your help!

Best Answer: Tract just means a parcel of land. Usually indicates too that a larger property has been divided up for development.
