Explanation:
Sólo encontré una fuente en Google Books. En función de la definición que das y lo que se conoce como "cota" (altura de un punto sobre el nivel del mar), se me ocurrió que era una aproximación adecuada.
No sé si aconsejarla para un glosario. Espero que al menos te oriente hacia dónde buscar.
