By now a number of partners will have been invited to participate in introductory and preparatory
meetings. It is helpful to create a ‘network map’: a document that identifies the partner’s care capacity,
suitability and commitment of the partner to the programme’s target audience. Partners may include a

agree  Marcelo González: Aunque el resto lo traduciría un poco diferente, coincido en que el uso de 'mapeo' está bien en este contexto. No hay que esperar a que un término se incluya en el DRAE cuando cada vez más se utiliza. He hecho una propuesta parecida. Saludos :-)

COMENTARIO
Deduzco que se denomina “mapping” porque se establece una comparación con un mapa donde constan los distintos continentes, paises, ciudades, mares, rios, accidentes geográficos, etc. Y cuando realizamos una consulta en él, dependiendo de nuestro objetivo, nos centramos en uno u otro elemento.
