Hello everyone,
I am studying/translating a paper by Anna Sfard and Anna Prusak ("Telling Identities: In search for an analytical tool......")

In one of the paragraphs from this paper, there's a quotation about a work by author Gee where he talks about a "core identity" when trying to define what is the learner identity.

Quotation:

PS. I thought of translating the term as 'identidad de núcleo' or 'elemento fundamental de la identidad' but I'm not sure at all about it.

No he podido ver tu enlace, pero yo me inclinaría por “identidad básica” o “identidad esencial” “identidad central” o “identidad fundamental”.

Cuando uno tiene clara su propia “identidad personal” no debería tener ninguna crisis de identidad. :-)

agree  Víctor Meiriño (X): Yo preferiría «identidad esencial» antes que «básica». Creo que «esencia» se aproxima mejor a lo que denota «core». También «central».
