apresto Explanation: Size A substance, which reduces the rate at which paper absorbs water or ink. It is added to the pulp or applied to the surface of the paper when the paper is dry. Examples include rosin, glue, gelatin, starch, modified cellulose, etc. Stock Stock is a suspension of water, fibers, and papermaking chemicals. Sizing is used during paper manufacture in order to reduce the paper's tendency when dry to absorb liquid, with the goal of allowing inks and paints to remain on the surface of the paper and to dry there, rather than be absorbed into the paper. This provides a more consistent, economical, and precise printing, painting, and writing surface. This is achieved by curbing the paper fibers' tendency to absorb liquids by capillary action. In addition, sizing affects abrasiveness, creasibility, finish, printability, smoothness, and surface bond strength and decreases surface porosity and fuzzing.(wikipedia) [PDF] División de apresto de papel www.andritz-bmb.com/.../AK-BR-Profile-ES-IT.p... - Translate this page File Format: PDF/Adobe Acrobat - Quick View Si bien la sección de apresto está prácti- camente al final del proceso de producción del papel/cartón, no se trata de una función aislada.
