First of all, I'd like to know if Wick is a first name's man in Scottish as I'm translating a scottish short film without subtitles or script and I understand something like Wick as if it was a proper name.
The same happens with something like Ishmair or so. Is it also a proper name? What is its origin?

I don't know if you're looking for a translation or just an explanation but I don't think proper names should be translated, even if there is an equivalent in the target language.
