vaina tendinosa, aleta de mordida, restauración por inlay/onlay Explanation: tendon sheath = vaina tendinosa bitewing = aleta de mordida (answered elsewhere on ProZ) At the present, it looks like there is no generally accepted translation for "inlay" and "onlay". Until a term becomes available, I would use "restauración por inlay/onlay" MeSH: Inlays: Restorations of metal, porcelain, or plastic made to fit a cavity preparation, then cemented into the tooth. Onlays are restorations which fit into cavity preparations and overlay the occlusal surface of a tooth or teeth. Onlays are retained by frictional or mechanical factors. http://www.tischlerdental.com/onlays.htm: The difference between an inlay and an onlay is self-evident: an inlay fills in a tooth and an onlay is placed on, or covers a tooth.
