This is part of a presentation of a merger that has recently taken place. The company that acquired part of another company is now talking about the integration process. The term STAND-UP is an enigma to me in this context. Any ideas?

The sentence reads:
"Over the course of the months following the merger we have successfully engaged in many activities to stand-up and integrate the legacy businesses"
