For the sake of our collective enlightenment, I hope I am corrected by our colleagues. In any case, it means that the person or persons that have “gotten religion” are true converts to a (generally non-religious) cause, and that they pursue their new interest with uncommon zeal. In this example the “cause” seems to be customer service. |

se han puesto las pilas Explanation: Como dice Steven, se trata de una expresión bastante coloquial. Si hacemos una búsqueda en internet, vemos que aparece sobre todo en sitios como blogs y foros, más que en páginas más serias. Ello me ha llevado a pensar en otra expresión coloquial en español, que creo que usamos a ambos lados del Atlántico: se han puesto las pilas (en el sentido de "se han puesto serios", como dice la cita de María). Dependiendo del grado de formalidad de tu texto, a lo mejor te sirve... Saludos |
