Just to say that “gold ole days” sounds like an Americanism to me, i.e., including “days” Google gives more than 8,000 hits...
... the return of the gold ole days with Doc Rivers.
http://forums.celticsblog.com/index.php?topic=47701.msg10005...I don’t know if “gold ole” comes from some kind of spoonerism starting with “good old”... where the “d” in “old” gets transposed and replaces the “o” in “goOd” to become “goLd” o just comes about spontaneously, as in some kind of “golden age”... At any rate, whatever the reason, the “estiércol de caballo de toda la vida” (de los viejos buenos tiempos... cuando íbamos a galopar con los caballos de nuestra cuadra... y usábamos el poderoso estiércol para fertilizar nuestros campos...) sounds really good to me. Greetings.
