English term or phrase: thinning
Hello!

I'd like to know if anyone knows a specific term in Spanish for "thinning" within the poultry industry. Thinning consists in, when a broiler flock is close to its final/market weight (or age), picking out the biggest birds because they are already heavy enough. Then, the rest are left for another few days. This gives the smaller ones more room and time to catch up. Overall, it means the flock has a more uniform final weight.

Thank you very much.

Explanation:
Te dejo dos opciones: la primera es la más usada en avicultura, aunque es un poco verbosa. La segunda es más concisa, pero se suele usar más en referencia a otros animales de granja.
