English term or phrase: egg laying
Hi!
In a guide to raise caterpillars it appears the following sentence:
"Please be sure to release your butterflies before egg laying begins again"

How "egg laying" is translated into Spanish? Because I don't like "puesta de huevos".

Thanks in advance!

Spanish translation:antes de que vuelvan a poner huevos
Explanation:
Well, "puesta de huevos" looks like a perfectly good way of translating it to me, but if you don't like it, you can always re-write the sentence and use a verbal phrase instead of a noun.

But I don't see any reason to radically change the sentence in Spanish.

ovoposición/postura de huevos/puesta de huevos/desove

Explanation:
En el caso de organismos ovíparos se puede, y se utiliza cualquiera de los términos indicados. Hay una diferencia eso sí, los cuatro se refieren al proceso de postura u ovoposición, pero sólo los dos primeros tienen un segundo significado: significa el conjunto de huevos colocados en una superficie determinada (lo que en vivíparos podríamos llamar camada).

Sorry el segundo significado lo tienen "postura" y "puesta".
