English term or phrase: This volcano is a collapse structure on the remaining flank of an eroded volcano
Context: This volcano is repeatedly described as a "volcanic crater" or a "tuff cone" of parasitic nature somehow affiliated with the formation of Poike. But there is no geological reason to affiliate the two other than proximity.
Our geological mapping reveals that this volcano originated from volcanic CONSTRUCTION that predates Poike and subsequent collapse and erosional DESTRUCTION.
This volcano is a collapse structure on the remaining flank of an eroded volcano.

"collapse structure and remaining flank" are the ones that I am having doubts.

Audience: Chile and Argentina's Archaeologists.

Explanation:

Saludos,
Rodrigo L.
