English term or phrase: prior to dismissal

"Usage Instructions:

... The time of application must be recorded on the daily diary.

Report any adverse reactions o problems immediately to the laboratory staff.

To document compliance, subjects were required to maintain a daily diary of use and to return the product and diary at the conclusion of the study.

After four weeks of product use, subjects returned to the laboratory to have assessments of facila skin conducted by a Board Certified Dermatologist. Lesions were counted and recorded separately for teh right and left sides of the face. Date of onset of last menses was also recorded.

All daily diaries were reviewed for completeness **prior to dismissal**.

The following adverse effects were recorded:..."

Explanation:
I think "dismissal" is referring to the participants and not the actual diaries. They wanted to make sure each person filled everything out prior to letting them go.

Explanation:
Although the translation adds elements to the original text, I find it clatifies the matter.
