Creo que resulta interesante notar que runny nose, como indirectamente apunta patinba en respuesta a un comentario, hace referencia de manera general a las secreciones nasales líquidas derivadas de cuadros catarrales. No obstante, en el contexto dado, la especificación sobre la cualidad del moco (en tanto que líquido o acuoso versus espeso) no parece en absoluto relevante y, al contrario, referirnos en castellano aquí al moco acuoso, al goteo nasal o a las secreciones nasales líquidas parecería sugerir que el contacto con moco espeso no es un problema.

Así, como ya apuntara Reuben, la traducción más razonable en este caso diría que es moco, mocos, moco nasal o secreciones nasales, en función del registro, sin especificador cualitativo -aunque ciertamemte podría considerarse esta lectura como poco apropiada en contextos diferentes a éste.

Chema Nieto Castañón's comment in that question is in the same vein as mine about the difference between symptom (rinorrea) and contact risk (mocos/secreciones nasales) so I have copied it here:

Referido a "cosas que podemos tocar", runny noses debe leerse como "narices mocosas", lo que expresaríamos más naturalmente como que a lo largo del día podemos tocar "moco nasal" o simplemente "(los) mocos". De manera más formal podría expresarse como "secreciones nasales".

Así, en función del registro original, plantearía la opción más coloquial "moco(s)" versus la más formal "secreciones nasales". Y no estoy seguro si en México existe alguna fórmula coloquial distinta que pueda sustituir al peninsular "mocos" (tocarse los mocos, tocarse la nariz con mocos).

Yes, but the contexts are different, In these contexts the "runny nose" (synonym for "rhinitis"), is as a symptom of allergy or illness, not as a contact risk. In this question the contact contagion risk is actually the mucus or nasal secretions.
Según la RAE, el moco es un humor espeso y pegajoso que segregan las membranas mucosas, y especialmente el que fluye por las ventanas de la nariz.
