English term or phrase: Multiple tracking

Multiple Tracking or Sweetening:  did occur did not occur

Reference information:
Sweetening: For TV, Film and Jingles, a distinction is made between "Multiple Tracking" and "Sweetening". Multiple Tracking is defined as rerecording the same part over the original vocal, mechanically or electronically, such that both will be heard simultaneously in the final mix (such as double tracking the lead vocal or layering background vocals to make them sound fatter). Sweetening is defined as adding a new variant vocal part over the original vocal, (such as harmony or contrapuntal melody). Different payments apply for each and will be provided to you later in your course work.
