English to Slovak translations [PRO]
Medical - Medical: Cardiology
English term or phrase: pop
Kontext:

Since this phenomenon is audible in certain cases and under some circumstances can be felt at the catheter handle, it is also known as "pop."

Zaujíma ma Váš názor na preklad tohto výrazu - napadlo ma už viac alternatív - puk, prasknutie, puknutie - ale akosi mi tam nič nesedí...

Ďakujem za pomoc!

Explanation:
co takto sa inspirovat uz prelozenym
popcorn = pukance (slovo neobsahuje preklad slova kukurica)

tiez sa slovo "pukanec" pouziva v slovencine aj na popisanie zvuku.

Explanation:
Ide o fenomén súvisiaci s funkciou pravej komory.

„Pop-off valve“ predstavuje ventil PK do systémovej
cirkulácie a tak významne prispieva k zachovaniu funkcie
PK. Chráni PK pred nadmerným zvyšovaním plniacich
tlakov a zabezpečuje v čase zvýšených nárokov udržanie
srdcového výdaja „plnením“ ľavej komory cez
defekt, i keď za cenu prehĺbenia cyanózy. (citát)

"Pop" sa najčastejšie vyskytuje vo výraze "pop-off valve", čo znamená "obmedzovací ventil plniaceho tlaku". Keď sa ventil/chlopňa otvorí, ozve sa charakteristický zvuk.

Nie som kardiológ a s touto problematikou som sa nezapodieval, ale tieto podnety Vám možno pomôžu pri ďalšej rešerži.

Epidural Anesthesia ;

"As the needle passes through the Ligamentum Flavum, resistance increases and you may feel a distinst "pop" as you pass through it."
"In younger patients like you may encounter in Obstetrics, there may not be a distinct "pop" of the LF, just a sudden loss of resistance."
