Dover Immigration Removal Centre (formerly known as Dover Prison) was an immigration detention centre, located in the historic citadel of the Western Heights fortifications in Dover, England. The centre was operated by Her Majesty's Prison Service, and formally closed in November 2015. Dover has been designated as an historic site by English Heritage.

In fact, when these poor people are catched, they are taken in/to the building of the police then they are translfarred to detention centers.

disagree  Vuka Mijuskovic: Srpski pravni sistem ne prepoznaje diskriminaciju po socio-ekonomskom statusu. U istim pritvorskim jedinicama su smešteni imigranti i turisti koji nisu ostvarili pravo na boravak u Srbiji (bez obzira na prirodu neregularnosti)

agree  Natasa Ikodinovic: Da, u ovim centrima u UK su smešteni samo imigranti. Vidim da se ponegde koristi i deportacija za removal - Centri za deportaciju, ali proterivanje mi se čini bolje. I uglavnom se koristi "centar" za taj tip institucije i u srpskom, nisam čula za zavod.

Words UNIT and CENTER are "amigos falsos" in this field.

Detentional unit refers to a single cell within detentional facility, and "pritvorska jedinica" is a part of the system which is designed for the purpose of detaining people; other units have other purposes and pritvorska jedinica can be very complex and very central.

Centres are distinguished by a purpose vector as "distributivni centar" and "sabirni centar". Those that primarily collect are called ZAVODI and those that primarily distribute are called centers. So Zavod za nauku collects relevant science and centar za nauku distributes means of promoting science.Etc.

For this logic, correctional facility is kazneno-popravni zavod (KPZ) and social services agency is centar za socijalni rad.

Given that this is a BBC (popular) and not scientific text, I still stand behind Ms Czopyk's answer as optimal. Moreover, you have to be very careful with using the term "ilegalni imigranti" because in Serbian it can be as politically incorrect as using "gipsy" for Roma population.
