"cookie cutting" of databases "сечење на кришке" базе података Explanation: с тим да свака "кришка" представља територијалну јединицу GIS Cookie Cutting Library/Algorithms? Is there an open source GIS library available that provides cookie cutting? I have a series of polygons that are to be the cookie cutters, and then I have a series of geometries that I want to divide based on their location within the cookie cutting polygons. If there's no library, is there a fairly simple algorithm for cookie cutting polygons? Points are easy, using OGR for example you can just loop through all polygons calling Contains() on each point. Lines are more difficult but seems reasonably straightforward using Intersection() and creating new lines with that. Polygons strike me as using the same basic concepts, but more work. I was hoping someone already did this and made it public. ... http://stackoverflow.com/questions/7198645/gis-cookie-cuttin... DIST GIS Team procured the SDE Server license ($20,000) and four client connections ($4,800) in FY 97 and has implemented the software application. So far, the property, roads, bridges, and contours layers have been uploaded into SDE. With these countywide seamless databases, we have supported applications for DEP and DPW&T (Facilities and Services Division, DFS). DEP maintains its water resources database by watersheds. DIST has developed an Arc/Info application for cookie-cutting the countywide SDE data layers into watersheds and saving it back as Arc/Info coverages. DFS routinely needs to identify candidate sites for facility planning purposes. A query on the countywide Property data layer to identify publicly owned land (see map) took less than 10 minutes (total elapsed time including display), whereas in a ‘traditional’ Arc/Info Librarian environment, this operation likely would take 5 – 6 times longer than with SDE. “cookie cutting” Explanation: a "“cookie cutting” of databases" bih prevela kao "isecanje iz baze podataka ("cookie cutting")." Ja bih to ostavila u originalu, v. ref. dole. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 16 hrs (2014-03-03 15:28:37 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- http://books.google.rs/books?id=WVMPahbMMGkC&pg=PA266&lpg=PA... Clipping allows you to extract features in the database from a defined area. This function is also commonly referred to as cookie-cutting. You may be able to define the area on-screen with the mouse or use another feature in the database (such as an administrative area) to define the area. The result is a new data layer that contains only the features of interest within your study area. The original data layer is not changed. http://ccd.uns.ac.rs/aus/gis2/gitis_doc/ProstorneBP.pdf PROSTORNE BAZE PODATAKA --- GIS je prepoznao tri osnovna skupa korisnika prostornih baza podataka, što je uslovilo pojavu zahteva za specijalizovanim tipovima prostornih baza podataka. --- Prostorne funkcije Presek (intersection), preklapanje (overlay), fuzija (fusion), prozoriranje (windowing), isecanje (clipping), centar (centre), granica (boundary) -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 16 hrs (2014-03-03 15:31:52 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- ili: isecanje ("cookie cutting") iz baze podataka |

Reference: cookie cutting Reference information: Ovde je izuzetno jasno objašnjeno šta je "cookie cutting": http://forums.arcgis.com/threads/9366-What-is-cookie-cutting Re: What is cookie cutting? Just think of rolling out cookie dough (a data layer), pushing your special Valentine's Day heart-shaped cookie cutter (your clip layer) on the dough to cut out your heart cookie, and throwing the rest of the dough away. In GIS terms, perhaps you have a roads shapefile that covers the entire county, but what you want is a roads shapefile that only has roads inside your city limits. The Clip tool does this. The county roads are called the input layer, and the city boundary is called the clip layer. The output only has roads inside the city boundary. The clip layer must be a polygon layer. Back to the cookie analogy, the county roads are the dough, the city boundary is the cookie cutter, and the output roads is the cookie. "Cookie cutter" je ovo: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cookie_cutter te bi "cookie cutting" bukvalno bilo "isecanje kolačića". To naravno nije moj predlog prevoda.
