English term or phrase: site expected value

site expected value (SEV): theoretical limiting average value from an in-statistical-control analytical system, a system specific reference value

site precision (R’): 95% of results will differ by this or less when taken under site precision conditions. Defined as 2.77(site precision std. dev.). This strongly assumes data normality.

Explanation:
In-statistical-control analytical system.

Example sentence(s):
  • Shewhart called a process that features only common-cause variation as being in statistical control.
  • Other processes additionally display variation that is not present in the causal system of the process at all times ("special" sources of variation), and these were described as 'not in control'.
