The main carriage enables the movement of the machine along the measuring table (the X axis).
It consists of an iron base that leans on the side of a longitudinal guide and a steel column bonded to the previous base.

The movement of the secondary carriage (crosshead) along the column enables the machine to move vertically (Z axis). It consists of a main part that is mounted on the column and houses the spindle of the machine.
