The link is to the syllabus for the final years of the Irish primary school system. "Arithmetic" seems somewhat too specific to me - whether "liczba" captures it any better, I'm not sure. But it's an alternative at least.

Maybe I'm misunderstanding "rachunki" but, if it means "accounts" then it's definitely not that. We're dealing with children aged about 8-11 here!

disagree  Revandell: "Liczba" sounds very strange, I wouldn't use it. "Accounts" would be "rachunkowość" rather than "rachunki".
