Advokatbevilling Explanation: It is called Advokatbevilling in Norway, but I am not sure if there is a number attached (there probably is), and the bevilling is issued by Tilsynsrådet for advokatvirksomhet (first link), the second link is Advokatforeningens overview of bevillings. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 6 hrs (2013-02-12 15:37:07 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- However, if you are translating it, you should just use the Bar number, because the Bar is state based. You can be a member of the NY Bar (many Norwegian lawyers are), but not the NJ Bar. You might have license to practice in one or more states. I do not know of any attorney that has license to practice in all states, although a company might have gathered up enough lawyers to cover the entire country.
