English term or phrase: blind
The blinds are horizontal margins set on a book-projector for blind people. They hide part of the page depending on the settings. Marger can't be used as it describes the vertical margins. Perhaps "masks" or "Stores" or something like that?

skjulekant / tekstskjuler
Explanation:
I agree - you can't use "marger" here. However, "margins" here imply a defined border between the text to be "read" and the rest of the page - perhaps "kant" would suit here? And the purpose of the blinds (an unfortunate term to use in this context, but it would be difficult to find a good alternative) is to hide the text, hence my suggestions. These are purely "home-made" attempts - could not find anything related via Google.

avblending

Explanation:
blende = avskjerme, dekke til, dempe, dimme

"Avblending" is used when something is partially hid from view, e.g. for lamps when the reflector design hides direct view of the light: Reflektorkonstruksjon er ofte et kompromiss mellom kravet til høy virkningsgrad, god avblending og belysningskomfort.

rullegardin

Explanation:
Rullegardin brukes i datasammenheng, og du kan kanskje bruke dette i denne sammenhegen også, f. eks "horisontal rullegardin"? En rullegardin kan dekke så mye eller så lite av en side man ønsker.
