1) tingkap jenis 'top-hung'; 2) tingkap sisip ke atas Explanation: nas, 1) my first suggestion is based on how the term has been used in msia per real estate and construction brochures in malay. here's an example: <http://www.enggroup.com/crys_ss_semi_d_spec.html> 2) my second suggestion, a personal coinage which i prefer, is based on what the window is like. - to get a description, pls go here: <http://www.hometips.com/hyhw/shell/144window.html>. - 'top-hung' window is the one shown as 'double-hung' with this explanation: "The double-hung window, classic in appearance, offers excellent control of ventilation. You can raise the lower sash or lower the upper one. A single-hung window is similar but only the lower sash opens." -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 2 hrs 51 mins (2005-09-14 20:13:59 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- another possibility: 3) tingkap singkap ke atas |

tingkap hayun atas Explanation: this is a kind of casement window that swings up from hinges fixed to the top; i think of it as tingkap hayun tho' not sure how widespread the term might be |
