Blanketing and balancing of all storage tanks is carried out. One EU installation has blanketed all the storage tanks of the input and intermediate materials of the process. The only tanks that are not blanketed are for gasoil and water.

„Blanketing“ yra procesas, kurio metu į cisterną virš skysto produkto (pvz., naftos) įleidžiama inertinių dujų. Šios dujos išstumia orą, todėl, sumažėjus deguonies, sumažėja ir degių dujų, susikaupusių virš cisternoje laikomo produkto, sprogimo rizika.

Jūrų technikos žodyne viena iš „blanket“ reikšmių yra „apsauginis sluoksnis“. Manau, kaip tik ši reikšmė čia labiausiai ir tiktų.
