The Penal Code still does not punish self-laundering - The exclusion of self-laundering from the discipline is due to the general principle that nobody can be prosecuted twice for the same fact. The use of illegal proceeds by the person who committed the predicate crime is considered as a “natural consequence”, therefore a part, of the predicate offence. This is consistent with the Romano-Germanic law.
