English term or phrase: Let it die!
There is a term that I have found being used more and more. I don't know if it is widely encountered but in some communities I hear it a lot. It is the phrase: Let it die! It is used as a suggestion to drop a pursuit of something or to pay it no mind. For example, an issue that one person is pursuing and anothers advice will be to let it go. The advice will be, let it die.
I don't know if this is new term or if it can be found in history. Could it perhaps have been used by the Romans at some point? It would be interesting to hear if anyone would have seen a latin phrase that would embody the sentiment of this phrase.
Any suggsetions are welcome!

Thanks!
