the sun is shining. sol fulget/sol lucet Explanation: 'Fulg(e)o' is indeed often used of lightning and of other flashing visual phaenomena, but it is also used of sunlight, as, e.g., at Catullus, 8.3 and 8, where the plural 'soles' may be rendered 'sunny days'. But 'luceo' is more common. |
