I appreciate the help. But I'm having a hard time finding the a suitable word for sky. Civis Caeli, can be read as citizen of heaven. Would Civis aeris be better? Or is there something else that would convey the meaning?
We are presenting an award with a trophy to a accomplish flyer who has set many world records. Any additional idea?

neutral  Flavio Ferri-Benedetti: True, should be "civis" -- sorry, I was in a hurry! Anyway it is not necessary to come to a fight about singular and plural. I am sure Janfri knows perfectly well "civis" is the singular form - it just was a slip. Pax vobiscum!

  -> Gracias Flavio. Buon natale!

disagree  María Roberto (X): civis caeli - citizen : civis,is - función: nominativo (sujeto en singular) . Cicero dixit: ..."dabant mihi veniam cives mei" - Traducción: " me darán ese permiso mis conciudadanos." Cives es nominativo plural. "of the sky" :caeli (genitivo)

  -> Possibly Bob doesn't speak spanish. Anyway it's not necessary to talk about Cicero if you want to explain singular and plural . Would you talk about Shakespeare or Cervantes to explain the difference between 1 egg an d 2 eggs??

neutral  Robert Tucker (X): Agree with María's grammar - civis caeli. This, I believe, can equally mean "Citizen of Heaven", so not too sure it would be too appropriate.
