オフガス、出ガス Explanation: Though often used interchangeably and harmlessly even by engineers, "outgas" "outgassing" 脱ガス is when gas is removed as an intended result of a process performed, to release or to give off as a gas or vapor; whereas "offgas" "offgassing" オフガス、出ガス (degasu) is gas which is given off, especially as the byproduct of a chemical process, both noun and verb. (Emphasis: byproduct, not product.) However, you will see it used interchangeably all over the place... |
